iSperm Semen Analyzer
iSperm is a mobile computer-assisted sperm analyzer (mCASA) that helps vets, farmers, and researchers overcome regional restrictions and make animal reproduction more successful.
Considering the difficulty of keeping animals still during examination, it is important to assess the overall process to ensure the safety of vets and animals during the screening process.
Through user survey, we evaluated the process and design for optimization. As a result, we divided the process into two steps: vets performing quick screenings in the field, followed by technicians conducting detailed examinations in the clinic.
After conducting online tests with users specializing in different species, all steps have been compiled and edited into instructional videos for proper usage.
Industrial Design
ATOM DIY 3D Printer
The Atom 3D printer is a DIY printer that empowers users to assemble it themselves. Its design philosophy aims to foster hands-on learning and enable users to bring their own designs to life through printing.
My role involves conducting user research through workshops and online forums, and implementing the insights gained to design a more enhanced DIY experience.
To highlight the uniqueness of the hands-on creation experience, we have developed comprehensive assembly instructions and tutorial videos that ensure a seamless onboarding process for new users.
As a result, our small startup company, consisting of only 7 people, achieved tremendous success by surpassing our crowdfunding goal nearly 30 times on the ZecZec platform in 2015.
DIY Electric Skateboard
Empowering users to craft their own one-of-a-kind mobility solution, the DIY E-board project offers a hands-on approach to assembly and customization.
This project was initiated as a side project when I co-founded a two-person design agency in 2018. To ensure ease of use for everyone, we designed each assembly step to be completed by simply tightening screws.
We wanted the modification experience to be an integral part of the product, so we created assembly and operation manuals to help users get started effortlessly and understand the impact of each component on the cruising performance.
